Mohamed Diab leads CVS Accountable Care, encompassing the legacy CVS Accountable Care Organization and Signify Health’s legacy value-based care solutions business. CVS Accountable Care enables and supports a full spectrum of providers on a glide path to risk arrangements with varying programs and service models to meet providers where they are. Mohamed is a physician by training with more than 25 years of experience leading, growing, and advising regional and national payers, integrated health care systems, academic medical centers, and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to his current role, Mohamed held leadership roles with Aetna, ActiveHealth Management, and Health Data Management Solutions and led PwC’s Health Industries Advisory Practice. Mohamed earned his MBA from St. John’s University in Queens, New York.
James Margiotta
CVS Accountable Care
James Margiotta is the Senior Vice President of Growth for CVS Accountable Care. In this role, James works closely with provider partners to co-create solutions that optimize performance in value-based care. James is also responsible for executing a multi-payor strategy to grow Medicare Advantage opportunities and leads the growth of CVS Health’s retail virtual primary care and virtual care solutions. James has always focused on consistently delivering outstanding client service and performance. Before his current role, James served in executive leadership roles within CVS Health’s primary operating segments. James previously led Return Ready, CVS Health’s fully configurable COVID-19 return to work policy, COVID-19 testing, vaccine solutions, and more. James earned his BA in Marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Khue Nguyen, PharmD
CVS Accountable Care
Khue Nguyen is the Senior Vice President of Strategy for CVS Accountable Care. In this role, Khue is responsible for partnering with the senior leadership team to develop and implement value-based care strategies. Khue is the subject matter expert on Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) models and payment policies. Khue has more than 15 years of experience leading and advising integrated health care systems and home-based providers on value-based care and clinical integration initiatives. Prior to her current role, Khue led and secured the Physician Payment Technical Advisory Committee’s (PTAC) approval on serious illness alternative payment models and worked with industry leaders and CMMI on model alignment. Khue served as a key architect on national frameworks on payment and clinical model designs for serious illness, she also served as COO of a consultancy and public policy organization to advise health systems and home-based providers on clinical and financial model designs and implementations. Khue also served as Project Director for one of the most successful CMMI Health Care Innovation Award Programs and led various clinical, operational, and UM initiatives under physician-led delegated risk models. Khue is a clinician by training and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy with an emphasis on health management and policies at the University of California San Francisco in San Francisco, California.
Jonathan S. Rubens, MD, MHPE
CVS Accountable Care
Dr. Rubens is the Chief Medical Officer for CVS Accountable Care. Dr. Rubens leads program design, practice transformation, analytics, accurate clinical documentation, and care coordination in this role. Dr. Rubens has been instrumental in collaborating with different parts of CVS Health’s most transformative new clinical products and programs. Dr. Rubens partners with providers to optimize value-based care delivery, provides thought leadership to internal and external audiences, and passionately advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion as integral to our success. Dr. Rubens brings over 25 years of experience as a physician leader in academic and community settings. Prior to his current role, Dr. Rubens held successive leadership roles during his 11-year tenure with ActiveHealth Management, including serving as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Rubens is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Rubens earned his BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Rubens also holds a master’s degree in health professions education from the University of Illinois Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
Aria Sameni, MBA
CVS Accountable Care
Aria Sameni is the Senior Vice President of Partner Success for CVS Accountable Care. In this role, Aria leads client partnerships and performance by overseeing Regional Vice Presidents' executive client management organization and helping providers successfully manage populations in risk-based contracts. This includes optimizing the existing MSSP business and exploring new risk-based businesses and services. Aria brings more than a decade of value-based shared savings experience from UnitedHealth Group at Optum and UHC. Prior to his current role, Aria served in leadership roles where he designed payer incentives, managed embedded and interoperable care delivery programs, created value-based solution strategies, and drove client growth. Aria also led a team focused on delivering risk and quality performance, including payer risk/gain-share programs, care delivery collaborations, provider interoperability, workflow optimization, and prospective and retrospective program ideation and execution across 100K+ Provider Organizations and 30MM+ Lives. Aria earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
